How do you port forward SA-MP server?
#1

Hi, I've been trying to port forward by server on a 2WIRE 3801HGV Modem. But no luck. I attempted to port forward and went to typefish.co.uk and ran the the samp tool. The results I got are:

Server is online: No
Server is on internet list: Yes
Server is on hosted list: No

After a saw the yes, I went to see if my server was visible on the samp client but not showing up. Am I doing something wrong? Please help. Thanks

Be sure to have port forwarded, follow the instructions at http://www.portforward.com/english/a...erverindex.htm
The IP to give to your friends is shown at http://www.whatsmyip.org/
Also make sure 'announce' and 'query' are set to 1

Oh OK thanks for clearing it up!

By the way, is there anything I need to do here before I post my server IP and details in the Server Advertisements thread?

Not sure what you mean by your question but you need a reputation of 5 in order to post a server advertisement.

Okay I am gonna tell you the easiest way possible. First of all get Simple port forwarding software from http://www.simpleportforwarding.com/ then after you download and install it. It then will show you a guide with a check list all you need right there takes only about 5min.

Create useful and meaningful posts. You'll gain reputation points from doing so, or you can read this factually inaccurate 'how-to': https://sampforum.blast.hk/showthread.php?tid=281267

-> The only way to agreeing is to forward your router and your PC and so to add an Exception in your router and your firewall, to be sure players could connect without any problem.
Let's forward your router and your PC!

First of all click on Start and type cmd in the searching box. You can type Windows key + R: Then type "cmd".
Then type there ipconfig . Search in all the following text your gateway. You'll see in the next pic where you should find it:

<=== ipconfig is where I wrote "ipconfig"
The red underlined square is the IP you're searching for.

DO NOT close this application (the black box).
Once you got it, copy it, open your favorite internet browser, and paste the IP in your URL.
You should now be in your Modems parameters.

You may now search for a category link to forwarding, it can have the word forwarding, or "ports", or "application charing" or any word linked to forward.
When you found it, go to this category and click on "Add new", or "New Port" or some else button that will toggle opening a new port.

Then enter those details:

Port: 7777
Port Type: UDP
Enabled: Yes
IP: Get your IP and copy/paste it in this field your external ip

And press save, submit or any button to submit.

We now need to forward your firewall (it may works anyway if it is disabled but do it anyway).

Press Start, enter "firewall" in your PC language (e. g. In german if you are german) and click when you see a kind of title like "Windows Firewall with security.."
You could access it too from Start>Control Panel>Windows Firewall

Then click on something like "Change preferences" then "Exceptions tab" click to "Add port" and then enter this:

Name: SA-MP Server (name it whatever you want it's only used to recognize it)
Port Number: 7777
Protocol: UDP

You should do it (add a rule/exception) for "inbound" and "outbound", because most of times, if you don't allow it in outbound, it blocks the port.

Then click OK. And close it. Normally you're done.

Now get your ip and and go to Favorites>Add and paste your IP (you could add :7777 after your IP but just adding the IP is faster) (your samp-server.exe must be running) . If your server appears: everyone can connect

Make sure that you're Announce in server.cf is set to one instead of zero, if not, you won't be able to host it even if you've port forwarded perfectly.
