Problem with gta_sa.exe
#1

Hey guys,

Well, I've recently encountered a problem while playing samp. After playing samp (in fact gta_sa.exe) for sometime(say 30-40 mins), my game starts to hang heavily. The CPU Usage shows 100%. When I end the gta_sa.exe process, the CPU Usage stays high from then and my windows starts to hang! The problem gets temporarily solved by restarting the laptop.

For now, I'm on my laptop (after the restart) for few hours, but there seems to be NO high CPU Usage issues. The moment I start again with samp, the problem would start after sometime and that's why I'm suspicious with the gta_sa.exe process.

PS: Re-installed SA-MP & GTA SA.

Any Ideas? Please be genuine.

Thanks.

This may sound weird, but what brand is your laptop? My sis had a HP laptop computer which would use 100% cpu at all times for no particular reason, causing complete freeze ups and all kinds of other problems.

Well, I understand, but I never had such a problem for last 2 years. I'm facing this one since a week or so.
Any clue?

Edit:
Well, I finally started playing samp, but then my game crashed after 15-20 mins of play.

A CPU hanging on 100 percent usally indicates a virus or some serious damage to the CPU (usally caused by overheating). I would suggest you take it to a computer store, theres not much we can do from here, usally they can pinpoint the problem, if you don't want to pay just ask them if they could take a quick look, then atleast you know what the problem is.

Yes, my laptop heats up bad. Strangely, the hanging problem never occurred before, even though it used to heat up.
Anyway, I'll consult Dell Support.

Probally alot of dust built up inside, you could open it up yourself and carefully remove it (I use a vacum cleaner lots of people would not suggest it, but it does the trick).
