My friend has recently had his laptop repaired. Everything has been deleted,upon reinstalling gta and sa:mp, it told him he needed directx 9.0 or later. We tried downloading the one from the microsoft website but once installed the same error keeps coming up when trying to join a server.

Does anyone have a better link to directx or can explain what the problem is??

install it from the gta sa disc

Why would you need DirectX 9.0? Windows XP comes with it automatically.
And playing GTA SA with Windows 95 or 98 is pointless.

We dont have the disc and we need to install directx because EVERYTHING on his computer was deleted when it was repaired. OS:Windows 7

Perhaps they forgot to install a proper driver for the graphics card?
