Why don't we have the ability of deleting our posts / threads?

See topic.

There aren't many forums that offer this, there is report function for that
Also why is it needed? If you made an idiot of yourself, pay for it, if your problem is solved - let others see it, if you don't want to offer a script anymore - edit the post or ask for deletion, I can't see any more cases when it'd be NECESSARY

Well I think if you hover over edit button, it says you can delete your post.

Why tell me yes and then not let me do it, so I feel like a blind idiot looking for something that isn't there...

You should really read before posting.
You shouldn't be a moderator to EDIT YOUR OWN THREADS / POSTS, I believe and you should check the little edit button in your own threads/posts.

That doens't mean you cannot delete your own posts.
I think it's because of - everyone will delete his thread after xx amount of time. Then your postcount will go down. Means:

Yesterday I had 500posts.
Today someone will delete it - 480posts.

That will cause alot of questions.

It's disabled to prevent abuse. Say there's a conversation between person X, Y and Z:

Person X: Hi, can you help me with this script? ...
Person Y: SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM
Person Z: Lol, you're an idiot!

Then person Y deletes his post, and you can guess what happens next. (works on ******** too).
