No text when game starts (win7x64)
#1

1) SA-MP v0.3
2) Windows 7 x64
3) ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
4) Connecting to LAN server.
5) No crash
6) GTA:SA single player works perfectly
7) Completely fresh install of both SA-MP and GTA:SA (so please no replies mentioning re-installs etc.)

When the game launches I see LV Beach and pier fade into view as everything is cached and once it's finished that's it. No text, no options, just the beach and no way to 'start' or anything (although i can press escape to enter options - and i've tried a few display settings). My hunch is that this is a purely win7 problem, tried deleting gta_sa.set also.
Also, i've tried running the game in many compatibility modes and only win98 avoids the 'exception during load' problem.

Many thanks for any insight guys.

Really? ohhkay.
Upon connecting, the usual text (press left, right etc.) are not visible.

Simple enough?

Hey everyone, did this ever get addressed? I noticed that there was a confirmed problem with intel cards displaying text and a fix (DLL) was offered for version 0.3c. Did this fix get merged into the main release branch? Or is there a seperate download for the latest version also?

Thanks for any help!

Sounds like a scripting issue.

Was just about to say that :X

Are you trying to connect to your own server, or somebody else's?

If you're trying to connect to your server, then it could be a script issue, if you haven't tried connecting to a different server, do so and tell us what happens.

Thanks for the reply guys.

I'm not trying to connect to my own server. It's CrazyBobs CnR. And it looks like it's happening on any server.
If I run the game from inside a WinXP VM (using vmware hardware) it works like a charm. Only slow obviously.

Specs (Sony Vaio laptop):
Intel Core i3
Radeon Mobility HD 5470
4gb ram

Thanks for any and all assistance guys.
