Thanks for the support! Looks like i'm going with SMF then, IPB dosn't look that bad aswell..

If your willing to wast months on making your own custom forum software be my guest.

The only problem is its low on features for the price its not really worth it atm.


Ive stuck with vBulletin for a long time and I enjoy it and before that I was stuck with IPB. I dislike phpBB because all styles are alike, myBB is okay I like the styles of some of them. SMF most styles are pretty ugly.

The most recent I've used is SMF and I've rather taken a liking to it I would of used vBulletin, but I don't fancy paying around Ј100 quid to upgrade to 4.0 from my old 3.7.

It is, and i've checked out their community forum and the development is pretty active, and community based. which IMO is a great thing. I think it will just be time before it gets better, but its def. going in the right direction.

IPB is nice too, i think it looks great out of the box.

I chose SMF while i also suggest custom made forums, Why? Because you can make them how YOU want them, Of course you can tweak the SMF but you're better off making your own IMHO.
