Estonia sank cuz the doors in the front of the ship opened while the ship was moving so it filled up with water. Badly built ship. :P

I'm sorry for your dad. My grandpa was there, in another ship, very close to the estonia when it sank. He told me, that he woke up at night, and went to out, and saw the the ship when it was sinking. When it went under the water, the lights went off, and then on, because of the backup generator. There was a man near my him, and he had binoculars, and after a while, when the backup generator's went off, the guy said, it's gone now.
