Ok , as the title says, I am having issues with my microphone, I just bought it , brand new , when I plugged it in and turned on a song and tried to record something with the recorder ( that is implanted into Windows XP ) , anything said over the microphone was NOT recorded , and I turn off the song & Windows Media Player , and the same problem appears no matter what......
I have bought 3 mic's with earphones before , and they all had the same problem , or better yet , my computer had the same problem with all the microphones , earphones work perfectly!


What can I do to fix this? Is there some program to do it? [ NOTE that this ain't a problem with the microphone , it's with the computer! ]

P.S. If you know some program to fix this , please post a link towards the program download for the same program , the download must work ( and not be infected with viruses lol )

Are you sure the recording program is listening on the correct port? You should be able to change it in prefrences (Depending on which program you use) If in doubt install skype and it should auto-detect the microphone. If that fails then your sound drivers are not installed (for all your ports etc.)

Or your microphone port is broke.

Skype? Haven't used that in ...... Well preety much never , I'll see what I can do
