Make sure the gamemode you are trying to run is inside the gamemode's folder (the .amx (compiled script) of the gamemode). Also, if the gamemode requires any plugins that are not found in your plugin's folder or added to the server.cfg, there can be problems.

EDIT: Also what [Lethal] said, I always forget that one :/
