Basically, you just have to think before you act. Think about, "How do I do this in real life?" then act accordingly, depending on your character. Though be careful if you want to RP a person who don't give a shit as it's too annoying and might get you banned from the server real quick.

For example, if you're a criminal in real life, would you go walking around brandishing your gun in front of civilians and/or the police? No, so don't do that in the server if you're RPing a criminal.

Role playing is a game of pretend. You pretend you are this kind of person then you act how that person should act/behave in real life.
