Server won't respond
#1

Hi there!

I have GTA SA and SAMP however I have a problem.

When I try to connect to a server, SA opens, and says connecting, but it always says that the server doesn't respond.
See screenshot.

Some guidance much appreciated!

Open the server port.

Make sure samp.exe has permition from your firewall to go throgh it.

Oh, he says he has SAMP, not a server. Its probably your connection or it could be a bad copy of SA:MP, try reinstalling.

1. Make sure you have the latest sa-mp version .
2. Make sure your firewall / router isn't blocking it (I had this issue a while back)

Firstly thank you for all your help.
Secondly, I've reinstalled SAMP and checked the firewall.

Any other advice as I still cannot connect.

This worked for me!

Open the :7777 port on your router.

Some times this works, it realy depends on your router...

I'm terribly sorry but I don't know how to do this. I'm a complete noob, I just want to play GTA SAMP!

Could you explain?

Go to your router by going to http://192.168.1.1 or if that don't work 192.168.2.1

Go to port forward or Game Restrictions.

set port 7777 to your PCs ip.

Whats my PCs ip? Go to network connections and go to your local connections. Right Click and Status.
Click detailed and you will see a list.

Find IPv4 Address and that's the ip you want to forward 7777 on...

This is under client support, not server support, forwarding ports will not help his issue...

Seems like a firewall issues to me...
