I reformatted my computer because a virus. Before I did, the available space was like 160 GB and the used space was around 40 GB. Now I have 12 GB of available space and 48 is being used. wtf

You didn't partition it correctly, perhaps?

Well, everytime my computer starts up it brings up this screen. It says, "messages will popup", "do not shut down or restart your computer", and "once finish you will be prompted to restart or shutdown your computer." I kept this screen open for about 10 hours and still nothing happens. Of course I've shutdown my computer when it said not to just to bring back up this screen since I closed out of it.

Well if it helps any, i had 2 OS's running (Linux and Windows) and i formatted my HDD to reinstall freshly, and i only had 180 GB of space when my HDD is 250 gb. so i had to open the Partition Manager for windows 7 and move the space from my Linux partition over to the main C:.

If you use Windows 7 or Vista you can do the following to fix one of the partitions:

Right click Computer>Manage>Click Disk Management on the left, if you see a block with "Unallocated" you can right click the main C: (which is mine) and Extend Volume.

Hope it helps.
