I got left 4 dead 2 from my dads friends house and it does not have the manual in it so I can't have a CD key to install it to steam with. My dads friend just installed it and it did not work so that's why I have it. So I don't have a key but I do have a legit CD and case so what the heck am I suppose to do?

Either go to the game shop with your proof of purchase, buy it off eBay or something, or contact Steam Support

I have contacted steam. Thank you for your suggestion. Let's hope I can get the key recovered.
