Hi all,
I want to know if it's dangerus to open a server if i share a network.
Im 12 and that means for me that im sharing a network with my dad.
he thinks it dangerus to open my own server,
if i do it, he says he will get hacked and other people will get in a steal passwords,
Is it safe or not

Normaly its safe, but if you dad says no just don't do it.

People can't like hack into your network and steal things, it doesn't work like that.

Yes people COULD hack into your server but its impossible they will be realy in your network files, well almost impossible

Plus why should they, I guess your father is not a member of any secret agency or something? :P

But when it comes to homerworks....JESUS!!!!!!
I get scared everytimes i have missed a homework

Well, I don't want to make your father hate me because I tell you that you can host, but the chance of getting hacked if very very low.

Plus hackers can't just hack into your network, and get all the information trust me.

its safe to open a server if u want il host for you as i got a dedi ^_^

Well. it depends. if you really GIVE you information then indeed it is.

If you host at home and the hacker gains access to your computer remotely, RDP, Secure Shell, Telnet, whatever, than he'll be able to easily hack into any other computer on your LAN.
