Hay, i hope im posting on correct section and im not completely offtopic, im totaly desperate with such a simple maths thing(i think.)
can ya help me?
ive got a rectangle, with 60cm perimeter. Its length is 6cm bigger than its width.
How can i determine the Rectangle length and area ??
please dont post the answer, please explain me how to get to the answer!! thanks

And if you have the time there is another maths exercise, if you want to help btw. here goes:
There were men and women in a room in a total of 26 ppl. 5 Men went out, and 7 women came in, making the women number the triple of the men number. translate that into a sistem of equations. can anyone help me in this one??!! thanks !!
VERY IMPORTANT TO ME!

K, think I got it right,

Basically make an equation with all the data you know and need to know, mine went like this:

P=4l-12

P= perimeter
4l = 4 times the length
-12 = subtract the 12 cm from the 2 shorter sides.

put the perimeter in and work it out:

4l-12=60
4l=72
4l/4 = 72/4
l=18cm

So that is the length of the longer side, subtract 6 and you get 12cm, the length of the other sides.

18+18+12+12 = 60cm

k thanks, but ima lil slow on maths, so lets see
Perimeter=4 times all the sides so side+side+side+side
that shud be 60, as the perimeter is 60!! how do you get to 12 and those values?? sorry for borin ya but its really important!!

Well because it says "Its length is 6cm bigger than its width." Then subtract 6 for both sides = 12cm

The way I do it is to get an equation with only 1 value you do not know, using the length we can get rid of the width because it is just the length - 6.

I'm not 100% sure about the format or order of system of equations, but it looks right.

m + 3m = 26 - 5 + 7

Where 3m is the amount of women (three times the men).

Edit:

More math problems pl0x.

thanks malice and weedar, my xmas is saved and so is my connection, but malice the answer is wrong
its supposed to be in a sistem of equations i remember te answer starts like this:
{x+y=26 {....
{.......... {....
