Windows XP problem :O

Hello guys, i did run into a problem with a friends computer and we cant fix it so im asking here if you know what it can be=)

Problem:

Did you try to re-install Windows?

If you did, and it still freezes, try to install it from other disk/CD.

were doing a repair of the windows right now will come back later when its done the ASMS file is fucking with us only so im fixing some other stuff with it so will hopfully be finnished in some houres

Sounds like winlogon.exe is corrupted. Try going to Recovery Console from the Windows XP CD (at the main menu press R), login as Administrator, and copy WINLOGON.EXE from the CD the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32

oh yeah. wait did you change your windows login screen?
happen to me once. lol

edit: if you need the orginal winlogon.exe tell me ill get it for you.

Some tip to the topic starter, try booting XP in safe-mode
