My GTA works without doing any of these steps. I just installed it normally.

Delete samp.exe

Redownload the SAMP Installer. (samp-0.3b-install.exe or something)

Open the installer and IMMEDIATELY CANCEL THE SETUP. Windows will detect that "This program did not install correctly" and give you the option to "Reinstall with recommended settings". Do that.

Follow normal installation steps.



I'm not entirely sure what those "recommended settings" are (probably installing it in Windows XP compatibility mode or something) but it's worked for me on Windows 7 x64.

Try my similar method. It's a little easier, and doesn't rely on changing settings. Everything runs correctly through Windows 7 this way without compatibility changes.

Also make sure you delete your old SA:MP executable and THEN install the latest version.

Got samp working here on win 7... Everything works except that I can't jump in the game...

Ok,this what happens with me. First of all,.i had downloaded the R3-0.3C and it worked fine,no trouble,but then i wanted to un-install and it re-install it again,due to reasons. So i downloaded the R3-0.3c and i choose a server, then while it was loading,and when the loading was done, it crashed, now i tried to reinstall it again,and again,for like 6 times.but it didnt work, BUT,with the 0.3B version it works,and with the 0.3A it also works,but the server[s] that i always play on,have 0.3c. And i really want 0.3c due to the upgrades. Please,sum1 help me? i wud appreciate it, btw i have windows 7

I got win 7 and it never crashed for me make sure all ur drivers are supported by win 7

its not working..

first it asked me for d3d9_25.dll so i downloaded that and put it in my gtaa folder now its saying microsoft visual c++ runtime error

I have never personally had a problem running GTA on my computer running Windows 7 Ultimate. It probably has something to do with people using downloaded copies of the game and attempting to "patch/crack" them with no-CD patches that simply cause problems and crashes all the time. That being said: Are you attempting to run a downloaded copy of the game?

I use the exact same copy on windows xp, i just moved it over to the laptop, and this is happening. Its a clean version.

Edit: The only other thing that I notice I have is that I have the AO version (adults only)

now its loading, but its crashing around 3.1/4 of the loading bar..

This worked for me last time i didn't do this and it worked but i reinstalled windows 7 and sa-mp would not play it kept crashing i tried this and it worked

I have windows 7 64 bits on 2 computers
and I never had a problem with SA:MP

[SugarD-x]

Run As Administrator+DEP Exceptions for the SA:MP and GTA executables. That will solve 99% of your crashes.
