Hey guys I am confused with the ssl certificates. I want someone to exlpain to me what are the types of SSL certificates available and what they do? What are the colors? like Blue and Green :S And what they indicate and about prices and cheap places to buy emm xD Pls guys help me out (I am looking for a SSL certificate for a hosting company, probably a cheap one though)

You can recognize a SSL(Secure Socket Layer) protocol by the https(for example paypal.com)
These Protocols send their public key to the browser of the user and this browser then is able to check back if its a valid Protocol or not

basicly you need this to be sure that you can have secure transactions on the site
or short that the site is secure

I guess if you reread the site you might understand it...

"Green" SSL certificates are often referred to as Extended Validation certificates. These are reasonably expensive ($1000 and up) but help the users verify *who* they are connecting to rather than just that they are connecting to an encrypted website.

Regular SSL certificates can be found for ~$10 upwards. Of course, you can also generate your own self-signed SSL certificates but you get a lovely browser warning since it's not signed by a trusted authority. If it's only you using this site you may as well get a self-signed one and trust the certificate. If it's something that's going to be used by others, get a regular SSL certificate.
