Limiting Wireless Bandwidth
#1

Well basically i installed DD-WRT (Firmware Version), and it's awesum :3 But apart from that i know the QOS but is capable of limiting speeds (as i managed to limit mine to 2MB)
And it works perfect BUT, I cant see of how to limit it on WIRELESS and not through the router ports

So if i understand, you mean you are limiting your internet speed, and you want to test if that works for wireless too ?

In that case
www.speedtest.net

Test it there

Noes -_-, Also only kind of reply here if you have used DD-WRT, otherwise you won't understand.

I have already managed to limit my OWN computers internet (Which i don't want to do i was just testing) But I cant see anywhere to limit the WIRELESS internet.

Why? The idea behind QoS is to prioritise some traffic, not speed cap it.

That's what it does here, it also does that. That's what DD-WRT is for.

They why do you want to limit it?

Because he doesn't no what a password on a wireless network is.

Ok, I guess i need a mod to close this, Mr187, there was no need for you to reply as you have no idea. No one needs to know the reason I want to limit wireless, neither are you going to know. And yes I have a password.

No more replies unless you have something USEFUL to post.

I have an option to choose between enabling it for WAN or both LAN & WAN. Although I'm guessing you're trying to use the stuff at the end for the limiting of the speed, in which case I'm not sure it's a possibility then to limit it just for the wireless connection.

Maybe asking on the official DD-WRT forums would provide better insight.

Even if amazingly the DD-WRT Firmware doesn't currently support it at ALL, it would appear that DD-WRT development team are quite open to adding things in future releases.
