Lets hope I still have it, though I hope my hard drive doesn't need to be cleared or replaced. I really need things that are on it.

The fact that it goes all black doesn't really give me an indication of what it could be, If it was somehow a hard drive failure there are data recovery techniques and stuff if it has really important data. This is why its good to backup all you're important files on a USB drive as I've had the same kind of stuff happen before. Did you check BIOS at all to check if your hard drive is showing up?

No, I haven't tried BIOS yet, I'll do that now.
EDIT: I have the bios showing up, but what am I suppose to really look for in it?

Man... i had a HP computer and the OS is soo fucked and the funny think is i didn't even do anything to it, and it was only 2 years old. Id go with IBM computer, best and the most reliable in my case.

Yeah, well I don't really have enough to buy another, plus this is not a very old computer...which worries me.
