I think it's better to help a server, by being an admin and / or scripting for them, instead of owning a server yourself. It's way too much work, it becomes more of a burden than a fun game.

I prefer playing recently. While you are owning one, there is always shitload of requests from frequent players on how should gamemode look like, what should get changed/fixed/tweaked. Who should get unbanned, who wants to be admin. I pretty much got sick of that all so I switched into their role and started bothering others - much more fun.

I agree with this. I always think how I could make something better, maybe rescript this, tweak that - all can be done as a server owner. But I'd rather ditch the effort required and just play on some server. But hey, you're helping out by just playing there.
