Those who think they can make money off people here by posting links...
#1

If you have any link ANYWHERE in your profile, signature, ANY threads and posts here...and that link is any sort of online advertising, pay-per-click, pyramid scheme, or any revenue generating system or program...you had best remove those links because from here on out if I come across any of this kind of bullshit in my travels here the person will:

1) Be permanently banned
2) have their link URL added to the censor list
3) Read #1 again

Thanks!

EDIT: this does not apply to people who run server hosting companies, etc. This is simply about me trying to stop the retards who sign themselves up for some shady money-making scheme and then make stupid posts here in order to get their link some exposure.

So its only ok to spam links that generate revenue as long as they're for a hosting services / the money goes to players in high positions ? :\

I could understand you banning users who would SPAM these links, or even make posts to just gain attention to said links. What i cant understand is banning a player who would use such services to link to THEIR personal work or scripts. I was debating on releasing a really nice script and using a sort of money generating system, just so i can afford to pay for an extremely over prised host / hosted listing; In this day and age your server wont succeed if you do not get these two things. Looks like thats no longer an option though :\.

Its a shame when running a sa-mp server becomes all about how much money you have. People who are still in school become at a giant disadvantage to those that are in the working field, so they rely on such petty inconsistent ways of paying their high server bills.

I agree, why are only people in higher positions allowed to post links to make themself money? I think NOBODY should be able to do this, or everybody should be able to do this, I mean, insn't it an OPTION to the player who clicks a link in a signature?

And as kyosaur said, people who don't have a job (usually because of school/college) are at a huge disadvantage and won't be able to pay for the hosting services used to build population and popularity on their server.

(I could never make a server due to me not being out of school thus making no money, the only way I could think of is to begg parents, which I don't do because it's kinda' low, and to make some kinda' click for money link to scripts/maps I make, I never done this ofcourse, but I was thinking of it, would've been quite a good idea now I think of it..)
And as I said, it's their OPTION to click a link.

Not supported TBH.

I go to school 5 days a week (well not for much longer) and I still manage to work a whole day on Saturday. No need for crappy online stuff.

Thats just you. All of my money goes towards staying alive and sometimes to school, i have nothing more to shell out; if i had the money i would in a heart beat.

There is no harm in letting players use these revenue generating sites to link to THEIR work; I understand the banning for spaming the links/making useless posts to gain attention to the links, im all for that. I think its senseless to ban the players linking to their own work though, as im willing to bet majority of the players are doing it to earn money for a host so they can be on the same playing field as everyone else. In the end its a win win situation, the players get a host, and the hosting companies earn more money.

People are misunderstanding me.

I'm specifically talking about "pay per click" links, not links to their own companies, etc.

Anything that generates someone money if they click on a link, complete a survey, sign up for magazines, etc...THAT is the type of stuff I'm trying to stop here.

If you have your own hosting company and have a link to it in your sig, I couldn't possibly care less about those. Same with linking to a game you host or play. I have 0 problems with those types of links.

Sorry to be so vague.
