I can't understand why you can't read those instructions, as they are pretty clear...

Well I had the same problem and It annoyed me to death. The above solution has worked for me and it causes no problem in the normal functionality of the system it is just a useless process that Vista has and effects you in no negative way.
If you are have trouble getting to the services Option by putting it in Run.
Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools You should find services options somewhere in there find Windows Event Log and Disable it and your game will never crash again it also fixes the Alt Tab Crash for Vista at least it worked for me

Ummm, How-tos are general regarded as instructions on How To do something...
I read through those "instructions" and I found them plausible, and in depth.

It doesn't say to type services.exe in run, it says to type services... Windows recognizes this just the same as Control Panel, or Network Places, My Computer and so on...
