Since you have took a picture of it, e.g print screen, then its not your monitor, it could just be drivers.

I can see it, but faintly. Don't buy a monitor, you might as well just buy a 24" HDTV. There are some here in the U.S. at Walmart that cost about $130. As a monitor would cost around $250.

Before you do buy a new one, Try fiddling with the cables, and also hitting the screen, NOT VERY HARD..

i get the circle from the map at the bottom left of mine, i figured it down to screen burn but i dont see how. i dont play games for more than a couple of hours at any time and i play many different ones.
im just glad i can see my screen.

If you didn't have drivers your monitor would still work, when you installed you OS you could see what you were doing without them. Hitting the monitor wont be good for it either, the only reason hitting it worked is because when you did the cables moved back into place. Push the cables in properly and if that doesn't work then your monitors broken or the cables are.
