I like free web hosters that you can build your custom site (Upload PHP, Mysql files on)... but i recomend forumotion somthing like that

well smf + simple portal mod is alright tho
also u could make an account at 000webhost and get one from there
they have much free templateswhich u can download then make a smf forum and relink it there
but tho u need sum knowledge of html with those templates^^
