the radius of you're current position until the actual distance you can see the objects in the radius but cant see those that are outside I hope you got the idea ^^

Basically, The distance from which you have to be from an object before you see it .

If viewdistance is 60 for example you will be able to see the first point, but not second one. So for example if you place objects with viewdistance 60 you will be able to see them only when you come in come in their radius (60).
