as you are all aware of, i had a broken ps3, and just today me and my brother fixed it, cleaned off the thermal compound and put on new compound, cleaned the whole inside. and now, it is working and very quietly . topic is pretty useless but i just thought i would post it for people who have a broken ps3, it CAN be fixed

i had a problem likke this except with my laptop
it kept on heating up to the processor override temp and shutting off in like 10 min.
i opened it up and replaced the fan

also to the other user, it doesnt matter if you are taking care of it, you might need to grab yourself a heat gun, isopropyl alcohol and artic silver 5 thermal paste just incase you get the yellow light

I just bought a PS3 slim and it works great. Haven't had any trouble with it.
