Błąd czatu/Chat Bug - SA-MP 0.3 RC8-4 BETA

Quote:

22:32 <Balon> By the way. The bug with freezing of the chat does still exist.
22:32 <Balon> I've sent you a video before too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skG1R...layer_embedded
22:34 <Kye> well look at the performance of the game.. the person who took that video is under extreme network lag
22:34 <Kye> so, please look at lowering your rates and stream_distance
22:35 <Kye> I've never had it and I've been playing every RC for several days
22:59 <Balon> Yes, it may be the reason. I'll try and we'll see. Thanks for 0.3a again
23:00 <Kye> np. please review this page: http://forum.sa-mp.com/index.php?topic=125537.0
23:00 <Kye> if you have an RP server with lots of people in 1 city, you'll want to be careful with the stream_distance

What I can't understand, Is why you guys JUST show info regarding the issue, and nothing else.

I can tell you for sure, that when my internet gets capped to 5k, THEN I have network issues.

Random disconnects, and lost text, e.t.c.

So, I've been watching this happen, and automatically assume it's actually a bandwidth issue.

As soon as I up my limit on my net, It'll be fixed.

Then if the weather packs up, I end up with problems again (Wireless ISP).

I'd say, Use speedtest.net to check your speeds... Both to your local SpeedTest server, and to one that is close to your server.

I think that you'll notice you'll have a bad link/route somewhere...

As for the "issue"... Desync... Caused by packet loss, or traffic issues.

It may well have happened in 0.2 (I remember having a day where I got no clientmessages/ or just some clientmessages every so often, Not every time.

Quite often pages of /stats or anything get muddled... like line 1 line 2 line 3 e.t.c. will come through as line 3, line 1, line 2... (The order comes through mucked)

I've always looked at these occurances as network related, as it is, just TCP/IP doing what it does.

Check your net connections, for sure, from your local speedtest server and one local to your server... You may see that it's slow as on upload or downspeed. (Both will effect SAMP)

It has nothing to do with my internet connection, plus the fact that SA:MP uses such a small amount of bandwidth to start with

OK, So when I'm capped and I have issues, It's completely unrelated....

RIIIIIGGGGHHHHTTTTT...

When you download stuff on the internet, You're also gauranteed of the EXACT speed that your internet provides.... RIIIIIIIIGGGGGHHHHHHTTTT...

So, You're internet doesn't get affected by bad routes, and flooded internet connections?

Torrenting doesn't effect your speed and consistency...

You sir, Need to look into things more, and experiment... You may find something out...

You are implying i am running torrents, which i cannot anyway. And no, unless you are capped way below 10Kb/sec download then you are unlikely to notice a difference. Again, you imply any of us are downloading while ingame and no, a simple traceroute will tell you if you have a "bad route". If you are that unsure of your internet connection, hold F5 ingame.

LOL, Stop guessing PLEASE...

Bad routes, could have the throughput of a 56 k modem, YET traceroute, will STILL say it's fine...

Yet if you try do ANYTHING on that, Then you'd be screwed...

And, If you're going to quote, Quote... Otherwise don't...

Speed is different to ping, and so is reliability.

I have experienced these issues first hand, and I have seen where MY issue comes from, All your doing is attempting to troll, Yet you fail at doing so.

Read up on TCP/IP before you make more of an example of yourself.

I also wasn't implying that you run torrents, I'm just saying that as an example of how your windows automatic update could sap your internet at 3AM in the morning... Or that the malware downloading links on your computer may be ripping your internet up...

In short, It shouldn't be SAMPs issue, It's more than likely a config/connection issue... (Get a better internet connection)

That could well be a bug in the script itself...

You need to be more specific than just saying that it happens to you...

A) You can't talk IC
B) Can you /b or /s?

If A and B are true, then it's the script...

As for this issue, Ever wonder why download providers ask you to download off your local mirrors?

Like, Local traffic costs less, But downloading off a local server gaurantees you that you'll get as much speed as you can possibly get, reliably from the server that is closest.

I don't think it's a rare problem, sorry.

i know it takes time but dammit, i was just gettin into SA-MP RPing again, its just such a bummer that everytime i try and play i get this problem, but no one else on the server seems to get it. Ive tried multiple servers btw, everyone does this. Its imposible to play and ive got nothing better to do now than play it.

Trust me, other players will be getting it .. either they think it's thier internet and take it for that, or, they think nothing of it. Also, chill out .. if you want a decent fix for this really quite bad bug, you're going to have to wait for it.

I got the same problem when I put the game in pause. When I'm back in game I cannot use commands. Indeed the server accept the command and show a message but there is no effect in the game . I've to reconnect to fix it

any update?
can it be a isp related issue or server location?

In my server we call something similar as the Fake-Death bug, to get out of the problem we have been killing ourselves using world(gravity, water, etc) - since the normal kill command doesn't work. After the death the player will be synced again.

In my case death only made things worse. You then spawned in the default sa-mp location (LV elevator)

Many people have gone off-topic in this thread. The original report was for an issue where you would get half-disconnected. You can see players moving although you couldn't chat, respawn or see markers moving. If your problem is different than that you need to start another thread.

I have released an update to the server [0.3a R4] to try and address this issue. It's available on the download page. It has been in testing on GamerX for over 3 weeks and some people who were experiencing the half-disconnect problem have reported it being solved. Some others are still reporting problems being completely disconnected but it seems to be related to their internet connection and the server they're connecting to. It's not related to this same bug from what I can tell.

I'm locking this thread for now. If you want to report this problem again, please open a new thread.
