When i try to start up Sa-mp it shows a black screen then all the sudden it just closes. Anyone know why?

What do you mean what closes? the samp-server.exe or if you join a server cia client.

Like i don't even get to the loading screen, it just crashes and im not sure what version i have

aww sorry i tought you talk about a selfmade server, but you ask about the client.

Go in SingePlayer and open menu there (press ESC) then you maybe find a versionnumber somewhere in the corner.

I cant get into Sa-mp or single player so i cant find that out.

if you even can't go in singeplayer, then sa-mp isn't the problem... try reinstalling it or if you cracked it with an no cd crack then install the orginal one.
