Server Crash / Server doesn't Ping
#1

Hello,

So this person joined server twice, not sure what he does but, all players lose connection to server and server status turn offline and doesn't even ping anymore (0/0), while through panel I can see that the server is online. But nobody can join or anything as it doesn't ping anymore..

I use crashdetect, but I found nothing in logs, as the server didn't crash, its still online through panel but doesn't ping in browser that means it shows no life.

I had to stop server and start again in-order to get in working condition but the person keeps coming back and doing it... What could it be? Would appreciate any kind of help..

Code:
[14:11:24] [connection] 75.157.46.151:43528 requests connection cookie.

This has nothing to do with crashdetect. If you are using a downloaded script, make sure it has no backdoors that others might be aware of. Anything that can give that player the privilege to stop the server should be commented/removed from the script.

The server shows 'online' in the panel because the task is working, but the server isn't. That's why you have to restart it to get it working again.

Edit: You should censor the IPs though.

Maybe he's using a bulletcrasher? I didn't really understand but a bulletcrasher makes streamed players crash, you can avoid that.

No relation, the server itself stopped working.

If the entire server isn't responding then its obviously not a player crasher. It looks like it makes the raknet thread go into an infinite loop and the server basically stops responding to anything. You cannot do much unless you can check the packets that are sent by this player before the "crash" occurs, but it requires you to hook the raknet's receive function or use some sniffer (wireshark). There was a tool called RakNet Analysis tool made by eider, me and a few others a long time ago but I don't even know if it's available online. It could help you analyzing the packets, although I doubt it's still up-to-date.
