Probably rendering bug. Happened (or still happens) a lot with objects if too many are used or when far outside the world boundaries. I suppose the attached objects could be the cause.

It used to happen to me when I had a gpu that wasn't plugged correctly.

Its called artifacts. Often caused by fubar GPU or software issue
