Nah, keep the white, most will find it easier on the eyes to view it.

ive had more experience with darker design layouts, the first design i made was based off of a dark grey to black gradient, i never did anything really with white or anything light colored tbh
@weedar, i tried several colors beforehand but it seemed that the green and blue that i was getting looked better overall then the orange i was getting ( it was probably my fault, im not that good with orange and red in photoshop, idk why )
also @ seif, your right about the "ad", i actually put it there as a last minute thing, it got inspired by the giant banner below the header at swiftpanel.com
the idea of it was to advertise features / do a quick explanation of the section your in , in a graphical way, contrary to the way some hosting companies have been doing it (table with features etc), and i thought that this way would do it nicely, and if pulled off using the proper shades would complement the design(hopefully), but when i created the XV text i kind of got stumped, so i just decided to leave it the way it was for now, and never really got around to making an example banner for it
thanks to all the criticism and reviews that i got, its exactly what i needed :]
hopefully after a hundred or more so attempts at design, i'll be able to bring my skill up to a semi-professional level
