[Tutorial] FIX: Failed to set data for ''
#1

very short tutorial for my first

do you get this

the solution said is just "Run as administrator" but there is better one

click that

never get the message again

it is not needed because clicking on .pwn file gives

and that will remember, so correct opening and no admin needed

Right click > run as administrator. Problem resolved + you will keep all settings.

You are basically removing Pawn with any association with .pwn files, that doesnt really makes any sense. The point of using Pawn is compiler is having it associated with .pwn files.

PHP Code:
[General]
FileAssoc=1
[Display]
WindowMax=1
WindowX
=622
WindowY
=182
WindowW
=667
WindowH
=670
Splitter
=294
Font_Name
=Inconsolata
Font_Size
=10
ShowFuncList
=1
[RunOpts]
CopyDir=\
ExeFile=pawncc.exe
Params
=-
My config for example, no errors, эou got the association and the function list.
You'd just have to change the font ^^ (or download Inconsolata) otherwise it might just choose the system default, i don't know

It isn't a bug. The editor tries to make changes which Windows doesn't let you do unless you have administrative privileges. If you close the dialog, the editor won't scan the includes and hence the function list on the right side of the editor won't be initialized.

To make the editor always start with administrative privileges:
  1. Properties
  2. Compatibility tab
  3. Tick "Run as administrator" checkbox

How can you guys code in Pawno
It's the worst editor I ever seen, it was written a long time ago and it didn't update!
You can code faster and better on the new modern editors...
