Tabbing/AFK bug
#1

I have one of the crappiest internet EVER (Comcast), and thru that I have noticed a bug that occurs when you're having internet issues/lagging a lot. If you're timing out a lot because of internet issues, this may help you to avoid getting trouble or people confused.

If you're lagging and playing on a sa-mp server and for any reason you decide to tab out/go afk there is a chance you will get teleported/keep moving while AFK. This includes walking thru walls or get teleported to a different virtual world, unscripted parts of the server/buildings or fall thru the map. I have seen a lot people getting accused for wall hacking, teleport hacks, bug abuse, or glitching in general. I always had internet issues but never experienced something like this but I think this has something to do with 0.3.7 update. When you comeback IG and this bug occur ed, then you will get teleported back to the spot when you originally went afk. I tried to re-create this bug with my friends and use VPN/download HUGE files to simulate the laggy internet, and this bug happened 2 times out of 45 tries so it's very rare.

I recommend to stop running/driving/walking if you're experiencing lag or just /q if it's possible, I hope this helps anyone.

I also have comcast, but currently do not experience the same issues. There could me multiple things causing packet loss.
First: lets solve the isp issue,
- Goto speedtest.net and test bandwidth
- if you at least getting 5mb upload/ and download, you should be fine
- Now we need to test packet loss: goto http://www.pingtest.net/
- If you are having issues with any of these:
- If you are using a router along with the comcast modem, unplug your computer from the router and plug it ......into the comcast modem
- If you are still having the issue, we now know the issue. Unplug the comcast modem for a good 30 seconds plug it back in and give it another try.
- Still having the issue, your comcast modem is defective. Call comcast for a free replacement
Second: Not the isp issue
- If your modem works fine, it has to be your router or pc
- Router:
- If your router is prehistoric age old, you have to upgrade it becuase it does have issues with the newer comcast modems
- Computer:
- I would suggest to srart by pinging other things on your local network to see if you get any type of packet loss or excessively high ping should be like <5ms
- Upgrade pc drivers or even replace network card.

I have comcast and I used to have issues like this, I called them for a replacement modem, WHAAABAMM problem solved.

I'd hazard a guess that your internet isn't as bad as your router which is probably dying.

If they can't give you service, then they need to fix that. If you can't get any other ISPs to service you, then you gotta plead with Comcast to fix the issue.
