You really didn't state if you are trying to do this in a web-hosting company or a vps!
So which one is the state you are trying to install SMF (Web-Host or VPS)?

If you are trying to install it on VPS make sure you are having MYSQL installed.

If you dont follow this: https://sampforum.blast.hk/showthread.php?tid=327272 (it's in the end of the topic)

If you are trying to install it on Web-Hosting make sure the web-hosting has the latest updates for (PHP,Apache e.tc) because i've tested in some web-hostings and i coudn't install it due to an error occured in a file (.php)!

Most probably 'smf' isn't your database name, Enter the correct database name, If you're using web hosting they will give you a chance to name your database, enter it correctly. You can go back and see what name you chose. Or do everything again, Take everything down in notepad (database name,db pass)...

Make sure your webhost supports the required mysql version

The installer was unable to access the "csidog_smf " database. With some hosts, you have to create the database in your administration panel before SMF can use it. Some also add prefixes - like your username - to your database names.
