VIP on server?
#1

Hi.
I'm just wondering about ideal things to buy on server for real money. Something what is able to help player in some way, but not make better against others. As we know, server should be self-running that some kinda payments in-game are great option to get it.

What stuff would you like to buy (if you never buy, imagine what is the best option) in good intention to help server, including everything what is possible - vehicles, skins, weapons, something else?

The whole "VIP" idea thing should be scrapped. People who donate should not be seen as more important or relevant over others - it should all be about equality.

Just add some simple things for people who donate. Maybe increase a few limits, ability to toggle PMs, chat and walk styles, etc.

Who would pay bucks only for that? If I were a player on that server, I'd never pay for only these features. IMO.

VIP status is more like a gift for those who support the server. Not like something you would have to pay for to gain advantages.

[V]ery[I]mportant[P]erson... obviously the name address that, a VIP has more advantages than a normal players. VIP status is not a gift m8. People buy VIP. If it'd be only a support-method, then why would people create BIG-BIG threads about VIP donations? Look at the well-known servers' forums, you'll discover it yourself (This features, that feature, special tag, special shit etc..). It's a business these days. Believe or not, VIP gives a specific individual more advantages than a simple and ordinary player.

Well, I totally agree you should not ever create a VIP system that will be so much powerful than a normal players. It's just stupid to play on a server on which someone can donate little bit and get everything. Paying for much larger amounts of money under paycheck or better cars is just stupid.

That's what I created this topic for. I'm trying to find compromise between being best cuz real money, and kinda useless permissions to block pm(be honest, it should be available for everybody) or stuff like that.

People have different points of views. You might see it as a method to brutally gain wealth and a way to slightly acquire perks that will put you on top of others; but, some people do not see it that way -- and some do not even come close. For instance, I consider the meaning of giving a member vip status as a gift for gratefully helping the server out, financially. Something that makes their time, interests and money worth it -- something rather than a simple 'thank you' message. Also by giving them a reason to do it not once, but a second or even a third time, while keeping in mind that both sides are receiving benefits; the server gets to run longer and the member gets to happily use their balanced-in-game features. You should keep the features that imply interaction between players balanced as much as possible, this mainly involves the developer of the server -- so you really cannot say that vip features are bad, it really depends on who codes the features.

Oh, and it's Very Important Players in terms of this case.

If you would ask me what I would like to see on a server as a donor/vip, here it is: Anything and everything that does not generically alter how I would interact with others; by slightly gaining an advantage.

For example:
  • Vehicle tuning (no repairs).
  • Change skins (if classes are in-game, then only generic skins).
  • More slots on different aspects involved in-game.
  • A backpack with combat restrictions.
  • Cost cut-downs.
  • A group chat.
  • Play private audio steams.
  • Etc, etc, etc.
Cheers, and good luck.

You know why the server asks for money for the player to become VIP. The reason for "donating" is to improve the server and paying for the host so they require money in such things but I wouldn't mind if I donated in the particular server that I like in fact, there's nothing for free. Some hosting are paid every month so there is a reason why server owners or community owners put a special VIP features not to mention some servers are willing to sell admin level to improve the server's financial and unlock cooler stats in game.

You can't sell items that were created by Rockstar such as guns, and other stuff that were programmed by them, because it's against their EULA, if Rockstar would give a shit about GTA SA people would have followed the EULA, everyone should be equal and donations are made to support the server what you get with your vip system like decrease of limitations and other server features are to thank the players who donated but not to give them an advantage over others, a lot of servers are doing the exact opposite to squeeze out as much money as possible for their own benefit and some do it correctly and give people equal advantages in the server.

OT: Just give people a few bonuses that don't give them an advantage like decreasing limitations, allowing them to use certain vehicles, etc.. but not ingame items do not restrict people from using guns that are only for VIP's and so on give them equal terms.
