Does anyone else get the feeling Samp is dying?
#1

I use to play samp a lot, when each server would have players doing random crap, some more successful than others but atleast even the smaller servers would have a few people. before you use to see small servers have like 25/50 players but now all you see is 0/100. Only servers that attract any players are major servers like LS-RP and so on.

And not only that, the forums too. Look back at old posts and notice how they use to be related to something meaningful.. Now almost all the posts are some weird theory about samp.. sorta like this post.

I kind of sense the feeling of SAMP dying out. Dont really want it to die out but seems as if it is..

Anyone else got any thoughts on that topic? When do you think SAMP would be completely deserted with 0 players? couple years?

Was GTA 5 the reason for samp dying out? because i kinda feel thats why people i playing SAMP less..

Tons like this topics were made. Bullshit was the conclusion, SA-MP isn't dying.

Look around you, the players are decreasing rapidly. Tons have been posted yeah, but now theres GTA 5 out that would take a lot of SAMP players.
GTA 5 has, well sort of roleplay where you play as your character, earning money and so on. And in addition they got their other gamemodes such as TDM, races and the ability to make your own gamemodes.

Seems to me that samp could slowly die..

SA:MP is not dying but yes SA:MP's playerbase has drastically decreased in the past I agree with that. The main reason is....many of the old SA:MP users are now focussed on new games like CS:GO which has turned out to be an attraction for most of the DM'rs, almost entire A/D Community got shifted up there.

As GTA SA (SA:MP) is a very old game and new games have taken over, attraction to the new players are mostly the games with somewhat better graphics and shit instead of SA:MP.

Just stop this crap. Instead of bragging and stating that SA:MP is going to come to an end, enjoy it while it's still here because mostly everything has an end.

Just PLAY it and ENJOY yourself. If it is then no longer available and used, then MOVE ON.

You can say it isn't what it used to be, but I wouldn't use the term "dying" in this case. Also a lot of players are saying GTA 5 killed SA-MP or whatever, it hasn't what so ever. I have like 40 people on steam with GTA 5 that play SA-MP and all of them agree that GTA 5 is boring.

I'm neutral on this topic, I don't feel like SA-MP is dying, but I don't think its "evolving" so to say. I only wish for the best.

Nope. I can not see why SA-MP is dying because of the players are decreasing every day. It's just normal for people to have a life and walk away games forever because kids are turning into a mature/adult nowadays. Also the new generation of kids are more advanced than us playing GTA ONLINE to have fun. But I don't think SA-MP is dying in any ways and I can still see there's so many players are around making their own game plays.

Yes SAMP is dying.

The original server that I played on is still alive and well though I dont play on it anymore.
The other one that I played on when I came back to SAMP died out before 2015 came and it was up since 2009.
One more server that I played on also Died after a long time of running.

SAMP wont be deserted at least until 2030 and at that time it will still probably have some players.

Kids that played samp before are turning into adults and leaving the game,

while the new generation doesnt really pay attention to SAMP because they are use to good graphics and these new games...

SA-MP is not really dying instead its giving taken over by lazy people and noobs that just made the veterans quit SA-MP cause of them, thats atleast what i feel like.

If you check LS-RP and PR-RP, its not the same like when they started. Its basically what happened to WWE, it used to be good but now its just shit. Thats because veterans get tired of playing cause nothing refreshing happens on SA-MP.

New servers also have a difficult time staying alive due to LS-RP, PLA. NG-RP, SA-RP, IW-RP and PR-RP have all taken over the entire SAMP playerbase due to how many people recommend it and thats makes making a new server difficult and take years, most will probably die out sadly. These new servers hand out a refreshing, unique thing to SA-MP but just doesn't get noticed which kills it. Or else it'll end up with a low playerbase and the owners just don't have the funds to keep it alive anymore due to the low playerbase and lack of donations.

owners shouldn't depend on donations to keep the server alive but themselves with their own funds.

Be persistent and it will pay off.

Most of SA-MP players are not even registered on the forums. You can take many people as a example. I joined the forums on 2011 but started playing in 2007.

I only joined SA-MP forums because I wanted to learn.how to script.

In terms of playerbase I'm pretty sure it hasn't declined at all (I'm working on getting popznet back up so we can see) but it will die out quicker than expected if this forum carries on in the state that it's in with no one caring about it, because if I found a new game and visited their forums first and it contained even half of the crap that we're forced to deal with here, I wouldn't want to be a part of that community in any way, shape, or form. I'm only still here because I really care about what happens to this community after being here for so long.

Is SA-MP dying? in general player base wise no, but English side clearly you can see it on these forums for example which are half as popular as what they were in 2011-2012. A lot more non-English servers are popping up nowadays and are gaining over 200/300+ players compared to English servers less than ten can reach over 250 players daily.

That'll be difficult especially since its teenagers who open up servers mostly. Hosting forums + server is really difficult when you don't get paid that much, saying that european people that opens up english servers where they pay USD, lets say 20 dollars is 166 swedish crowns for me is insanely difficult to get when you don't work and still go in college, etc.

Having donations to keep up the server is nice knowing that players actually want it to stay alive. PR-RP doesn't run off Jakes pockets, well abit does but most of it runs off donations like SA-RP, LS-RP etc does.
