With a fresh install copy 1.0 randomly at periods of the day my game will crash. When i try to come back to the server i will get to the vinewood sign and then crash again. On every server and at random. I can reinstall and it does nothing i have tried 3 different versions of the game itself and it does not do it on my wife's computer with the same install.

Stuff i have tried and did not work
- Setting GTA_SA.exe to compatibility mode with windows 98
- Unchecking read only on all files
- Making sure it was 1.0
- Made sure no mods (fresh install)
- Formatted Computer
- Turned off firewall/Tried without firewall after reformat
- Deleted GTA user files in my documents
- Deleted GTA sa directory entirely
- The game Fixes itself RANDOMLY (tried this at 9 different locations across 2 states including WA and CA so its not my ISP or internet)
Computer Specs
Core 2 Duo duel 2.4GHZ
2GB DDR2
ATI Radeon X1400 256MB (The game works singleplayer and sometimes on rare occasions multiplayer)
500GB 72000RPM Seagate HD
Windows XP Professional (all updates installed)

Versions i have tried
- From the SA i bought when the game came out
- Downloaded a copy (i purchased the game and was trying to fix the game i stole nothing)
- Had a friend burn me a copy (once again purchased the game stole nothing)

What version of Direct X do you have?
Maybe you should update your drivers or something.
I don't know really I can't think of anything more then what you stated.

Due to the reformat windows XP is completely updated with everything and my drivers are all new due to the format.
