My Server Says Cannot Read From File When Compiling? [FIX INSIDE]
#1

Hello. Recently after thousands of people saying they get this error (that it cannot read from file bla) here is some steps you have to take to get it working.

Firstly make sure you actually have the include file in your pawno/include folder.

Secondly here is what you need to do if your error persists:
_________________________________________________

First do not open your script by clicking on your file:

_________________________________________________
You must open pawno.exe first:

_________________________________________________
Then click new:

_________________________________________________
Delete all the lines in the new opened pawno.

Now Open your Original Gamemode:

_________________________________________________
Copy All of the lines, then paste it all into your new pawno file:

_________________________________________________
Then Compile your script while overwriting your old one.

- I hope this helps lots of people!

This is bullshit, basically you're explaining how to load the right pawno.exe, cuz it sounds like this problem only happens if you have multiple server folder with the pawno.exe located inside the folder.

Come on, let's be honest it's obvious.

well I knew I was gonna get a negative rely from trying to help people. Seriously lots of people download a fresh GM that thousands have tried and for some reason they get this error when it seems it works for everyone else. This a topic people can link to if some one replies that it cannot read from the file. lately I have been helping people setup this servers and I have been getting asked why this is happening and how to fix it. People always post around saying "Its in there but it still won't compile". Ok? Good. If you do not need this help or no not have positive feedback don't even bother posting.

And no this is not from multiple server folders. This error is still possible to happen even though its a single server folder.

Example I found this reply in less than a minute:

This problem is when you put the include in wrong pawno folder! Here is a better guide!

1.

if the problem persists, check if you have all the files in the include folder! If not Search on the filename on the forum...

BP13 is right, this isn't just a case of having includes in the wrong folder. There is a "bug" whereby you must restart pawn without clicking a file to get the includes to "refresh". This is not bullshit..
