If you're using FTP, use it to upload your gamemode and your new server.cfg

Ok, I have now found out that it is a Linux server. So, I am on Windows XP, trying to start the server via FTP.

Suggestions?

You must be using a pretty shoddy host to not get a control panel, unless by FTP you mean SSH.

You can not start a server from FTP, there is no execute command from FTP. Its just used to send/receive files from a remote host.

If you want to use SSH to run it I recommend using putty to SSH into the host.
