So here what happened , I had this GTA SA from my friend a few years ago and only about a year ago we found out that we can play it online. So i came on and loved it, but then i went on a holiday and when i came back the following problem started happening:

When i try connection to ANY server my computer stops responding fully on the character selection screen , sometimes not even getting there. I cannot even open task manager, only option is to restart the comp.

I've tried alot of stuff... changed compatibility , removed firewall and anti-virus , re-installed both sa mp and gta sa. Nothing ever helped , maybe someone has any suggestions on how I can fix this ? please post here so it may help others with the same problem.

P.S. The same game worked fine on my friends comp on his old XP and now on his new Vista. I tried to solve it for months and found nothing.

tried reinstalling the drivers , when there is no driver installed the game doesn't start up at all , when the driver is installed the same thing happens. I am using Windows XP btw. Any more suggestions ?

Two days of waiting now , please guys ... i beg someone who knows and is just a guest here for example , please register and answer this so everyone knows how to resolve this problem.

it wont just stop working unless you change or remove something

btw does single player work?

I've had the exact problem on one of my laptops that had Vista. It just simply won't work.
Vista isn't exactly the ideal gaming OS.
