Hi, I recently hosted my server and they gave me an IP and a port. (Port: 7780)

Question: Do I still need to open the port they gave me? (7780)

Problem: I've done everything I know to open ports but no matter what I do, they'll always stay closed. Then, I learned that uTorrent could do it for me. So, I opened the program and went to Options > Preferences > Connections and typed the port. I clicked OK and checked if the port was open... and... SURPRISE! it magically was!

but the server isn't visible for the public in the server list. How do I know if is working fine?

Nothing else is running on port 7780?
Do you got announce on 1 if im right.

Port forward can only work with the default port which is 7777 , This can help you : http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/
