Bad user name
#1

Hi,

Since a few days users can't connect to my servers. They came on the server and get the message "Bad user name". I tried it with a few user names but no one works.
If I run the server with the same configuration on my own computer, it works.

How can I get working my servers on my host again?

well when it says Bad User name does it say your containing un usable symbols or is it just saying Bad User Name, even a screenshot if you can would help because normal samp you can not use symbols mainly.

If you are sure you use a right name and the server runs on Windows then try to change the compatibility option of the samp-server.exe to Windows 95 and it should be fixed after a sampserverrestart.

The SAMP-Servers are running on Windows Server 2003 Standard x64 Edition.

The problem with the user names is since a few days (this week). I think it not depends on the compatibility mode but I will try it with the compatibility mode.

//EDIT: Now I've tested it with Windows 95 compatibility and it works. But how does it not work without the compatibility mode as before?
It runs only if I run the server as the user who set the compatibility configuration. If I run the SAMP-Server as service as user "SAMP" the problem with "Bad user name" continues.

Here is a screenshot of the error: SAMP_BadUserName.jpg

Does the name "Programie" contain any other symbols? I think, no.
And it's shorter than 16 letters.

If you are sure you use an acceptable name and the server runs on Windows then try to change the compatibility option of the samp-server.exe to Windows 98 and it should be fixed after a server restart.

Windows servers with high up time may also cause this issue to occur. This has been noticed of around 50 days of server up time. To resolve it, a reboot is required.
