SA-MP & Windows 8 major problem
#1

Hello everyone.

I just converted from Windows 7, to Windows 8.

Before, EVERYTHING in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Multiplayer worked PERFECTLY, this means.

Keyboard worked
Mouse worked
Mouse worked in the pause menu
The game did never freeze
The game did never crash

But now in Windows 8

Keyboard works
Mouse works HALF of the time, which means i have to press ESC a couple of times, and then it works again
Mouse NEVER works in the pause menu, which means i have to use arrow up and down, and press [ENTER] at every menu i want to enter.
The game does not freeze, but it does freeze if the mouse ESC bug happends too many times
The game does crash, and it's a crash that makes the game windowed, i can't even execute the process in the task manager.

WHAT am i doing wrong with SAMP and Windows 8? I got told that every software from Windows 7 would work on Windows 8 aswell.

Kindly regars Alex.

It should work, to be honest. In very rare cases, it can be the operating system (don't get me wrong). However, that is less likely to occur. Maybe the installation went a bit rough with San Andreas? Have you tried giving it a go another time? If that doesn't work, try running the .exe file as an administrator by right clicking the .exe file itself.

Same, keyboard not working...

SA-MP says "Unable to execute", and It's in Chinese so I have no clue what compatibility options were selected...

Well i still play samp alot on windows 8 and recognize these problems as im having them some times like
when you alt tabbed your mouse will be visible ingame that causes the mouse to be bugged(just hit tab)
and about crashing yeah it happens to me sometime like when im 50 to 60 minutes ingame i know it will
be crashing but i can live with it hope that samp will come with some solution to this though.

Have you tried Windows 95 Compatibility? It works for me that way, except for the title bar not showing up. In-game.. no issues.

I'm using Windows 8 Pro, and have none of the issues reported. I have set no compatibility options, just a "straight-off-the-install" start-up and it works fine. Does the issue still occur in Single Player?

I have the same few problems, I hope they get fixed in the next update of SA-MP. I often find myself freezing and crashing a lot and I have a pretty good computer so that shit shouldn't happen, I also run Windows 8... Sometimes my mouse sticks to, which can be annoying.
