Random FPS lag
#1

Hello there!

I've got this FPS problem with my GTA SA. It hasn't always been like this, but let's say a month ago I suddenly noticed the e.g. driving had got 'sticky' if I can say so. Earlier the only problem I've got has been the lag at places near shadows (woods, eastern Los Santos), but that I've fixed by using the graphics on low (removes shadows). I find it sad to use the lowest possible settings, cause my laptop should have no problem running it at all. According to systemrequirementslab.com, by specs are way over the recommended.

Over a week ago I happened to format my game, and expected all issues to be gone by that. The lag got even worse. I reinstalled StreamMemFix 1.0, but that didn't really help much. I have ******d FPS lag issues a bit, and due to that turned the GTA's priority to a bit higher, which didn't help at all. I have even updated my video card. Currently I have no mods installed, as I'm playing a clean copy.

Nothing really seems to fix this, and I'd be more than glad to get to play with full graphics. I hope you peeps can help me out here.

Edit: Oh and, what causes the shadow lag anyways? SA is not that HQ game that it shouldn't run perfectly. That would be perfect to be fixed as well. Thanks.

Windows 7 64-bit

It would help if you actually provided your laptop's specs.

Is it because of your laptop's power settings?

Well, if I compare the requirements and my specs, I find no problem there.

I doubt. The bigger lag problem occurred out of nowhere, and I hadn't done any changes there. Though they might affect that how my laptop runs it overall, like it e.g. did a year back. I'll take a look at it, how do you think I should have them set?

I had the same problem before and I fixed it b changing the laptop's power plan. Look and change it if it is on Battery/Energy Saving power plan.

I have changed it to the best performance. I can't think of it being about something like that, because my problem occurred out of nowhere without me changing anything on my laptop, and as it still occurs after me formatting the whole laptop. It really annoys now. E.g. nowadays I swim as slow as possible, nearly without moving at all, unlike earlier when I swam nearly as fast as a boat goes
