Missing health bar
#1

Hello, I recently built my new computer, and after trying to play SA-MP on here I encountered a rather large issue that has a heavy impact on my server preference (deathmatching). The issue is that I don't see other players health bars, this is quite an inconvenience when you're killing players. I've searched around but found nothing that really helps me, so I came to you guys. Here's a screenshot of my problem; http://i.imgur.com/sweB5dw.jpg - hopefully y'all have some ideas on what could be causing such an issue.

SA-MP Version: SA-MP 0.3x R1-2.
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
Graphics card: Intel HD 4000 with the latest drivers available (9.18.10.3165).
Specific to a server?: Game-wide problem.
Any game modifications?: No, a default installation.

I've re-installed GTA: SA and SA-MP several times.

Have you tried running SA:MP in compatibility mode?
Did you download or buy GTA: SA?

Running it in Windows XP SP3 causes SA-MP to crash.
Running it in Windows XP SP2 works, but the health bars are still missing.

What compatibility mode would you recommend?

And I've had the game for several years now, using the same copy over three other machines and it's worked perfectly on all of them in the past.

Windows Vista
Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)
Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)

They all cause the game to crash.

Well then I suggest you download a patch from the internet, let's see.

Can you be more specific? I don't know what kind of "patch" I'll need.

Weird. Do you have a RIP version or FULL version? because some RIP versions don't work in some PCs, or if they do they always have a glitch, like the one you have.

Those bars are drawn by DirectX so try and reinstall that.

Install an older version of Intel's graphics card.

I tried installing DirectX again, from here, but it said I already have the latest version so it doesn't reinstall.

Can you give me a specific driver version to use?

Uninstall it first and then install the latest version...

DirectX comes with Windows, you can't just simply "uninstall it" (from what I know at least).

You can always uninstall something, it just might take a bit of time. However, I did just think of something... you could try to repair your Windows installation via the install disc- that might fix DirectX.

I scanned my computer using SFC.exe and found no problems with DirectX, so I went with what RaZVaN ^ xD said and I downgraded my graphic drivers a few times - seems to have worked, thanks!
