Dual screen for developing
#1

I need to know if anyone of you has already do something similar. One screen at left side with pawno, and one at the right side with gta & samp.

Each time I go to test a script I need to tab & reload samp and server. Is there any way faster than this?

I mean something like this: click here

Thanks everyone for help!

Why re-load SA-MP? Just alt & tab, do whatever in pawno, compile and reboot the server then go back in game, simples.

I think you're over thinking Pawn scripting, no need for dual monitors. Do work on a script, note down what needs tested, start up a server, go in, test it, note down what needs fixed and repeat.

I do this with two separate PCs.

lol just script first, make a command something like /updates and go ig and check what you did

I use two monitors, but not particularly for how you intend to use them, I'll have the SAMP wiki or maybe a tutorial open on the right, then I'll have notepad++ on the left.

Even with 2 monitors, the GTA screen loses focus and minimizes when you click on something else which kinda defeats the point (I just alt-tab). I use my seconds screen for music/fb/wiki.

Press alt+enter, then SA-MP does not loose focus when you click away.

I don't have dual monitors, but my friend does and when he has GTA: SA on one monitor (in windowed mode), when he clicks stuff on his other monitor the game pauses on the other, and if he puts it full screen, it fills one monitor with the game and the other one is just black. Can anyone confirm this? This is one of the reasons I'm not getting dual monitors any time soon. Has he not set something up (right)?

I have dual monitors and this does happen, to fix this wait until you get in-game then you can either ALT+TAB out and go back in or press "T" in-game and move the mouse over to the other screen. This is an SA problem so it won't/shouldn't happen with other games. At least it's not happened to anything else I play so far.

I've had dual monitors for about 3 years now, two same model 22" ASUS screens. I will never go back to a single screen again. Seriously, it's the best thing to do as long as you have space. However; I would strongly suggest you get the same size screens or even better, the same model screens. I wouldn't call multitasking on a single display multitasking anymore, dual monitors are definitely the way to go. Soon I'm planning to get dual 27" screens for pure awesome.

OT: Coding, games, other applications are 100x better and easier to use with dual monitors. This is why most modern companies now-a-days you'll see give all their employees 2-3 monitors on their desks. You won't regret it.
