FPS Limit
#1

Well on my options >> display i got frame limiter turned off. With fraps when i have the game on max, i get 93 fps. When i turn down settings to the lowest, i still get 93. How i remove the limit?

Would this be limited to SA:MP opened and on or is this related to regular GTA:SA opened? If this is related to SA:MP use /fpslimit (I think the command is) and modify it. If that doesn't help it might be your GTA:SA.exe itself.

What do you mean by 'remove the limit'? Uh, turn the frame limiter off...? (which is what you've done!)

I turned off frame limit (fps limited) on display but on game it's still enabled. Same thing happens to SP, but instead it's limited to around 80 even though i have frame limiter turned off on display settings.

Why do you want more than 80 FPS..?

This. The higher your FPS, the slower you swim. (50+ FPS = no movement at all.) The buggier the game becomes, basically.

But if you really want higher FPS, have you tried forcing VSync to be disabled via your graphic card options? I know NVidia allows this, not sure about the others. I'm not sure either if it will actually help.

Actually, in my experience, 31+ FPS causes bugs such as trouble toggling sirens and difficulty swimming or taking off with a Skimmer (seaplane). Not sure about the gradual increase. I've also NEVER experienced absolutely no movement at all - even at ~90 FPS.

For anyone interested: GTA: SA was designed for the PS2 to run at 25 FPS, and many things in GTA:SA are (stupidly) based on FPS, so problems arise when the FPS limit is removed/increased.

Try swimming at 20 FPS, at 30 and at 40 using Frame Limiter and /fpslimit. You'll notice differences. It's not like everything bugs after a set number. The difficulties gradually increase, probably because those things are internally checked a certain amount of frames.

Example: sirens go on when player presses Horn button twice within 20 frames. This makes it a lot easier to enable the sirens when your game plays at 20 FPS, instead of 80 FPS.

Excuse me, my mistake. I meant "almost no movement". I prefer to swim quicker than a snail can move though.

/fpslimit 90 and pushing your car will be extemely easy, but /fpslimit 20 and you'll hardly move it.
