I would have applied myself, but I don't want to waste 38$ for something I will probably not win anyway.

You've been waiting 5 months for your first post and that is the best you could come up with?

/sigh Obama basically shut down NASA after taking away their "government funding." So.. NASA doesn't do missions like that anymore and likely never will. Thanks Obama, thanks for ruining the one thing the U.S still had that was REALLY awesome. Fuck you too!

Nevertheless.. I don't think you'll find ME going to Mars for the rest of my existence; that seems a bit far fetch to me.

It was one of the first things Obama did when he got into office. So... like 5 years ago. I believe the cut in their budget was probably put off for a few years or something, so they probably used what they could while they could. I know they did one last shuttle launch not too long ago. I can't remember if they have another one or not though- I don't think so. As for the rover, I'm sure it is; but they probably can't repair it themselves anymore.

They retired the space shuttles. They are working on other projects now. IMO NASA is seriously underfunded, but they utilize their budget really efficiently, it's actually very impressive how much they are able to pull off while their budget constantly gets butchered by politicians which then put the money to other stupid things like Obamaphones...
