Hi. I want to learn C++. I wanted to download Microsoft Visual C++ but I can't connect to microsoft.com. So, what compiler do you reccomend me? And also a forum with tutorials? Thanks in advance.

I use code::blocks every time. It makes programming easier.

1+ for Code::Blocks, its a neat IDE. keep your eyes open for the binary version including MinGW.

offtopic: is anyone using the allegro library?

addition: yes, the ~90MB "codeblocks-12.11mingw-setup_user.exe"
